The genre includes a large variety of sub-genres, such as fighting games, beat ’em ups, shooter games and platform games. games such as fortnite, call of duty and player unknown battlegrounds requires fast reaction times to achieve victory’s and be the best player in these respected games. these type of games give you fast game play and intense situations like grand theft auto 5 which sold 110 million copies, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time. gta online was there biggest hit because of its fast game play and any mission that you would do in free roam you would have a time to do it in with every player on the map being notified of what you are doing creating intense gameplay. or like this mission in gta 5‘s doomsday heist where the lights go dark and you are swarmed with enemy’s and the only way to find out where you are is by the mini map or the thermal scope on your gun. with the free aim active you have to have quick reflexs and requires hand eye coordination

typically action games work on a level by level system make each level harder then the last or making the enemy’s more difficult then the last. god of war(2018) was a smash hit on the PlayStation 4 with over 5 million copies sold in the first month and then doubled in may 2019 making it the best selling game on the PlayStation 4. with IGN saying God of War is not only a monumental leap forward for the action genre, but it’s also a leap forward for gaming in general. with the whole game looking like it was just one camera shot that is if you dont die, this makes you feel like you are closer to the combat and action like never before from start to finish so you cant even tell when you are in a cut scene like this scene where the atreus shoots at a deer .

grand theft auto 5 and god of war both have rewards once you have completed a mission, in GTA you get money and RP (xp) which helps you unlock more cars and other items in game that you can use against other players. you typically have goals lie complete in a certain time and you get more money in game but these are not required to be done.in god of war you get coins to upgrade your axe and xp so you can progress further.

games like call of duty black ops 4 is mainly a online mulitplayer game and requires you to have quick reflexes/twitch gaming and hand eye coordination with accurate timing. this is also emergent gameplay because its intense when you are swamed by the other team and for some people rage. also any wrong moves could cost you the game and make you lose. the first min shows the quick reflexs somone must have in these games.
